Writing: Reporting Your Research
The last stage of any project is writing it up, and it gives many students more trouble than the statistics did. These eight lessons make the write-up close to mechanical: once you know which sentence goes where, the words come more easily.
The framework is IMRaD: why you looked, how you looked, what you found, and what it means, each in its own section. Within that framework the course goes into detail on the parts students find hardest: APA statistics reporting down to the italics and the missing leading zero, and figures that don't mislead. Then come a clean results section that states findings without over-claiming, and writing up a null result. It ends with the discussion, the abstract and title, and a final checklist to catch easy mistakes before a grader does.
The course is most useful when you have output in hand and a blank document open. It has no prerequisites beyond a study to report. It completes the Methods → Data → Writing sequence of the Toolkit, and One Study, Start to Finish follows that whole sequence on a single dataset.
