Ethics: Responsible Research
Nearly every rule in this course was written after someone was harmed. Research ethics can look like paperwork until you learn the history behind each requirement. These eight lessons teach ethics as a practical skill, not as a list of forms to fill in.
The course opens with why the rules exist. It then covers situations you are likely to face: getting valid consent, handling the rare study that needs deception, and protecting privacy once you hold the data. The second half turns to integrity in the work itself: the questionable practices that researchers drift into without meaning to, authorship and citation, the ethical use of AI tools, and how science catches its own fraud.
The lessons are short and apply whether you are running your first study or reviewing someone else's. There are no prerequisites, and the course pairs well with Methods.
