Nearly every rule in this course was written after someone was harmed. That is worth saying plainly, because research ethics can look like paperwork until you learn the history behind each requirement. These eight lessons treat ethics as a practical skill, not a compliance hurdle.
The course opens with why the rules exist, then walks the situations you'll actually face: getting genuine consent, handling the rare study that needs deception, and protecting privacy once the data are yours to keep. The second half turns to integrity in the work itself, the questionable practices that nobody sets out to commit, fair authorship and citation, the ethical use of AI tools, and how science catches its own fraud.
